Stripes, nautical symbols and a color palette composed by white, blue and red shades are the key ingredients of the marine style.
Both for men and womens, the marine style is always on trend during spring/summer season, but for Spring/Summer 2017 we have a new version of it in the menswear world.
Designers presented an innovative interpretation of the nautical style, inspired by a modern man who embraces urban and contemporary vibes and, at the same time, loves experimenting with designs and textures.
Alessandro Michele, Gucci's creative director, added lots of nautical inspired elements to his Spring/Summer 2017 collection, including seahorses, old maps featuring galleons and peculiar aquatic creatures, as well as stripes and marine symbols.
Also, the brand Off-White reinterpreted the marine trend for Summer 2017 season, reducing the nautical symbolism to the minimum and using the marine color palette as the main focus, picking deep blue and white has the main shades and using red touches to recall the nautical style.
Topman got inspired by the traditional British seaside culture and for Spring / Summer 2017, the brand created a peculiar collection that mixes together classic designs with exotic patterns, and this is why Topman presented stylish pieces featuring hawaiian patterns blended with British elements.
